About Me

Make the Dog House a Thing of the Past!

A graduate of Karen Pryor Academy for Animal Training and Behaviour, with 12 years of training and behaviour experience. Our goal is to help as many people as possible to build a relationship with their dog using positive training techniques in order to get the dog that you truly deserve.

Karlee shares her home with three dogs, Chloe a Chihuahua x, Pear an American Staffordshire Terrier and Theodore an Australian Shepherd. Together they have worked in a variety of different sports including Disc Dog, Agility, Flyball, Weight Pull, Rally Obedience, Herding, Barn Hunt and Nosework.

Staying on top of the ever changing world of training, Karlee regularly attends conferences, seminars, online classes and workshops throughout the year. Just like you wouldn’t take your dog to a veterinarian who didn’t keep their education up-to-date – why would you take your dog to a trainer who isn’t continually investing in their education? Continuing education is critical in providing you with the most up-to-date, quality training and instruction, That is why Karlee continues to provide professional development and always adds to her list of seminars presented by the worlds most leading trainers; including, Ian Dunbar, Emma Parsons, Ken Ramirez,  Susan Garrett, Nicole Wilde, Dr. Susan G. Friedman, Debbie Martin, Hannah Branigan, Nancy Tucker, Melana DeMartini, Michael Shikashio, Amy Cook, Trish McMillian, Carla Simon, Chirag Patel, Michele Pouliot, Debbie Torraca, Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz, Kathy Sdao, Amy Cook and Karen Pryor.

For Dog's Sake YYC believes that owning a pet is an amazing and rewarding experience, but also a responsibility, not a luxury. Training your pet properly will lead you to a greater understanding of the animal, and we firmly believe in the owner-pet relationship being one of mutual understanding and respect. Our one of a kind programs immerse you fully in the training process, and with this holistic approach, we find that owners end up learning as much, if not more, than their pets.

Our Philosophy

For Dog’s Sake YYC promotes and utilizes Positive Reinforcement Dog Training techniques, which is a humane training method that uses reward-based training to build a relationship of trust and respect between you and your dog. For Dog’s Sake YYC is focused on not only training your dog, but teaching you how to best communicate with your dog(s), without using fear, submission and intimidation.

Karlee regularly attends conferences and seminars across North America on Animal Behaviour to ensure she is delivering the most current information in this forever changing field.

Our goal is for you to have a happy, well-trained dog in all environments, not just within the home!
